Can I use an AC company that I choose?

We connect you with one of our trusted subcontractors who is licensed, insured and ready to perform your installation as soon as possible.

Is it a hard credit pull or a soft pull?

All but one of our lenders and or lease companies do a “soft pull”. Soft pull means that it does not lower your credit score to apply.

Does a co-signer help?

A co-signer can help in certain situations. It mostly depends on the type of co-signer. They need to have a better credit score and add income to your application. A co-signer can sometimes be helpful.

If I have bad credit, can I still get approved?

We have a very high success rate in getting people qualified for financing for a new HVAC system. Submitting the pre-approval form does not impact your credit, so it can’t hurt to try.

Does someone come out to the house to take a look at it?

This is totally up to you, the homeowner. We tailor the process to your needs. Many of our subcontractors prefer to make a site visit. But if you’re able to text a few pictures that we provide to the subcontractor, it is possible to avoid the site visit. At the time of the installation, issues sometimes arise that could have been avoided with a site visit. But we leave this choice up to you.

What's the equipment quality?

Our goal is to arrange financing for quality equipment at a price that you can afford. Our subcontractors have a good, better, best style of approaching the equipment choice. All of the equipment that our subcontractors install is name-brand. The equipment is brand new and comes with a 10-year warranty on parts and a 1-year warranty on labor. We don’t work with any subs that install junk, used, slightly used or scratch and dent…EVER!

When can I get it installed?

Our goal is for our subcontractor to install your brand-new system the very next day. With the extreme heat and the record number of people needing new AC systems, there have been some delays. Almost always, installation happens within one to three days.

Is there a down payment?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, it depends on the lender. Our goal is to avoid loan or lease programs that require down payments. We are trying to get you the absolute best deal possible. In most cases, there is no down payment.

How long does it take to get approved?

20 minutes to an hour. We pride ourselves on getting back to you as soon as humanly possible.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD REPAIR OR REPLACE MY SYSTEM?

Generally, AC units that are more than 8-10 years old should be replaced with newer, more efficient models. This general rule dictates that if the age of the AC unit multiplied by the cost to repair it equals more than $5,000, the unit should be replaced. If it is less, the unit should be repaired.

If you do not know the age of your system, the age (year manufactured) is in the serial number of the label attached to the condenser and the air handler. Text us a picture of the label and we will help you figure it out.

WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME TO GET PRE-APPROVED? HOW EASY IS IT TO GET PRE-APPROVED?

It depends on the financing that is best for you. We use multiple finance companies because everyone’s situation is unique. We are not a one-size-fits-all AC financing company, and we want everyone to have the ability to get the financing that helps them the most. That is why we tailor our solutions to your unique situation.

On our website, there is a “Get Pre-Approved” tab. If you fill out this form, we will have everything we need to understand your financial situation and determine what financing is best for you. If this is a challenge for you, we can also take your information over the phone.

Our goal is to make this experience as easy and stress-free as possible.

HOW MUCH WILL MY MONTHLY PAYMENT BE?

This depends on the financing available to you. We have customers who pay as little as $75/month for a new system. Typically, this is a person with good credit or is located in a city or county where specific loan programs are available.

The key is that we can get almost anyone financed with very few exceptions. If you have bad credit, the financing terms might not work for you, but we can give you options on what we can do for you.

CAN YOU GET ME APPROVED IF I’VE BEEN TURNED DOWN BY ANOTHER COMPANY?

Yes, absolutely. We get this question a lot. But it does depend on a few factors, like credit score, income, debt-to-income ratio, recent payment history, etc. We have a very high success rate at getting our customers approved. Give us a call or fill out the pre-approval form on our website and we will get to work right away.

ARE YOU GOING TO PULL MY CREDIT MULTIPLE TIMES?

Only one of our multiple lenders pulls credit and that is at the very end of the short process, which means there is no impact on your credit to fill out the pre-approval form.

CAN YOU GET FINANCING FOR SOMEONE WITH A CREDIT SCORE OF 550 OR BELOW?

Yes. It could depend on where you live because some of our financing programs are approved in specific cities or counties. It also depends on your income and ability to pay. It may require a co-signer, but we have even gotten people below 500 approved.

WHAT KIND OF FINANCING DO I QUALIFY FOR IF MY CREDIT SCORE IS 700 OR HIGHER?

Above 680 credit score is considered good credit. You will have more options in your financing. With a credit score above 680, we will be able to get you approved quickly and easily.

I NEED A NEW AC AND MY CREDIT SCORE IS 600, 640, LESS THAN 700, IN THE 500s, LESS THAN 500. CAN FLORIDA MAN AC HELP?

I DON'T HAVE CASH TO PAY FOR A NEW AC SYSTEM. CAN FLORIDA MAN AC HELP?

Many of our financing programs require no down payment. We have deferment programs as well that allow you to get the new unit now and pay later if you’re in a challenging place financially.

THERE ARE AC INSTALLERS THAT BID VERY LOW ON PROJECTS. THAT COULD BE REALLY GREAT FOR YOU. WE ARE CAUTIOUS AND WANTED TO SHARE SOME THINGS YOU SHOULD ASK IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING A “BARGAIN” AC SYSTEM:

Will the system be properly permitted?

At Florida Man AC, all of our trusted subcontractors pull permits for your new system. This way, you know it was done legally and done right.

Will a bargain (cheap or shady) system have a warranty?

It’s possible that the reason a system is so cheap is that it’s slightly used. In this case, watch out. Know ahead of time if the cheap system will have a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty on parts.
At Florida Man AC, all of the systems installed by our awesome subcontractors are brand new and come with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty on parts and 1-year labor warranty.
Also, some bargain installers might not honor the manufacturer’s warranty. We have seen many installers put in a system and disappear, never to be heard from again if there is a problem. At Florida Man AC, you will never have to deal with a hassle like this.

Will a bargain system be brand new?

All of the systems installed by our wonderful subcontractors are brand new. Some companies will pass off a used or slightly used system as new. This can void a manufacturer’s warranty.
If the AC fails because of a factory fault, the warranty covers repairs or replacement. A warranty cannot be transferred with a used air conditioner, however! A “transferable warranty” refers to moving the warranty over to new homeowners, not moving the AC to a new home.

Will it be hard to track down the bargain system installer if something goes wrong?

Possibly. And if it does, this is a terrible feeling. If there is an issue with a system installed by one of our subcontractors, we will connect you with assistance right away.

Are the bargain installers professionals who are licensed and insured?

Always check to be sure. At Florida Man AC, you will always deal with one of our licensed, insured professional subcontractors.

Are the “bargain installers” skipping steps in their installation?

Installing a new system takes time. It cannot be hurried or rushed. If an installer is basing his prices on being able to do more volume, be wary. He has to be faster and that is really tough and can lead to cutting corners or taking shortcuts.
